1) The Club
The club shall be known as Feniscowles Cricket Club.
2) The Executive Committee
i)
The affairs of the club shall be governed by an Executive Committee, the constitution
of which shall be as follows:
President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, 1st, 2nd
and 3rd team Captains, Youth section representative plus one other to make a total
of nine.
The Chairman shall have the casting vote.
ii) The Executive committee shall
meet as and when deemed necessary by the Chairman or Secretary. Any five members
will form a quorum.
iii) The Executive Committee shall have vested in it the power
to co-opt and appoint new members at any time in the event of a resignation or the
formation of a sub-committee etc.
iv) The Executive Committee shall arrange and hold
an Annual General Meeting of the club as soon as possible after the end of each season,
and in any event before the date of the League A.G.M. Any propositions for submission
to the League A.G.M. will be decided and forwarded to the League Honorary Secretary.
All club members shall be informed of the date and venue of the meeting.
v) The Executive
Committee will ensure that the Club complies fully with the ECB “Safe Hands” policy
for safeguarding children and appoint a qualified Welfare Officer and deputy.
vi)
The Executive Committee shall cause proper accounts to be kept.
vii) The Executive
Committee shall cause Auditors to be elected.
viii) The audited accounts of the Club
will be presented for approval at the annual general meeting of the Club. If they
are accepted by the members they will be made available to the Trustees as required.
ix)
The Executive Committee will ensure that the club has adequate, up to date public
liability insurance cover for all it’s members and officials, their cricket connected
activities and equipment.
3) Officers
i) All officers of the Club will be elected for
a minimum of one year but may offer themselves for re-election at the annual general
meeting.
ii) All officers of the Club will be selected and nominated by the Executive
Committee prior to the annual general meeting which is held in October each year.
Details of all nominations will be circulated to ALL club members as soon as practicable
before that meeting in order that any alternative nominations for any of the posts
can be put forward. Any such nominations must be submitted to the Secretary in writing,
not less than seven days prior to the annual general meeting.
iii) At the annual general
meeting the nominations of the Executive Committee and any counter proposal will
be decided by the votes of those members present at the meeting. The vote will be
by show of hands. In the event of the Executive committee nominee not being accepted,
then a vote will be taken in respect of any alternative provided that the correct
procedures as laid down in Rule 3 ii) have been adhered to.
4) Annual Subscriptions
i) For the purpose of levying subscriptions members will be divided as follows:-
Juniors
- any member not having attained his 18th birthday prior to the 1st May each year.
Seniors
- any member being 18 or over on the 1st May each year.
Students – any member in FULL
time education irrespective of age.
ii) The amount of subscriptions to be levied each
year will be decided by the executive. The amount will be decided after taking into
account the financial situation of the Club and the projections as to expenditure
for the forthcoming season. The final amount will always include an amount to cover
current membership fees (for seniors) of the Social Club. The Committee will also
set match fees.
iii) Subscriptions become due at the commencement of each season.
Any member who is in arrears by the 1st May will be penalised by his subscription
being increased by the sum of £5 (five pounds). If subscriptions remain unpaid by
the 1st June the member concerned will be liable to suspension from any team until
such arrears are paid. Any further delay may result in expulsion from the Club.
iv)
Any member who obtains a sponsor in the amount of £25 or more will be entitled to
a £5 reduction in his/her subscriptions for EVERY sponsor introduced.
v) Any Club
member, having previously paid his full subscription, who is not selected to play
in more than four matches may apply to the Executive Committee for the refund of
all or part of his subscription.
5) Team Selection
The senior teams to represent the
Club each week will be selected by the team captains (or their vice-captains). The
names of those selected will be published on the notice board in the social club
not later than the Wednesday evening prior to any game and input onto the play-cricket
web site by Thursday prior to the match. Those members having an e-mail address will
also receive notification of their selection via the web site. Details will also
be supplied to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph for publication, usually on Friday
evening. In the event of the teams not being published all members must contact their
team captain. Junior teams will be selected by the Team Managers.
Any member who is
selected to play and who is unavailable must inform his captain or Manager as soon
as possible prior to the match. Any member failing to play as selected who has not
notified the captain will not be considered for further selection unless and until
he presents a satisfactory explanation to the Executive Committee.
6) Responsibility
and Discipline
On match days the captain of each team will have full responsibility
over the members of his team before, during and after the match whilst those members
are within the precincts of the ground. All matters of discipline on the field of
play and/or during matches are governed by the Code of Conduct published by the Veka
Ribblesdale Cricket League, details of which are contained in the current League
handbook.
In the event of any club member being reported to the on-field Captain
by the umpires as being subject to those provisions the Captain MUST report the details
to the Secretary or Chairman as soon as possible in order that the required procedures
for the investigation and disposal of such matters can be instigated and finalised.
7)
Conduct of members
Members should always conduct themselves whilst representing the
Club, in a reasonable manner so as not to bring discredit on the Club and/or to the
Veka Ribblesdale Cricket League. Any behavior deemed as discreditable may result
in suspension or expulsion form the Club. (See Rule No. 6 above for procedure to
be adopted)
8) Equipment
The Club will be responsible for the provision of suitable
cricket and safety equipment for the use of the whole membership and further to maintain
such equipment to a satisfactory and safe standard. All club members must take proper
care of all Club equipment and property. Anyone deemed to have been reckless or negligent
in his or her use of equipment of facilities risks suspension or expulsion from the
Club.
9) Practice
Wherever possible indoor practice session will be arranged during
the winter. Outdoor practice will take place prior to and during the season on whichever
evening (usually Tuesday for seniors and Friday for juniors) is the most convenient.
They will take place under the supervision of the club’s ECB qualified coaches or
one of the team Captains. Sessions will terminate at the discretion of such member.
10)
Rule Changes/ Items for inclusion on A.G.M agenda
Any member of the Club who seeks to make alterations or additions to the Club rules/
constitution or bring up any other matter for discussion at an A.G.M. may do so by
either:
a) notifying the Secretary in writing prior to the annual general meeting.
b)
putting his/her proposition to the meeting subject to permission of the Chair.
